I was wandering around the bear discover, reading people’s blog posts and about pages. I can see people from many countries/cities that I rarely heard about, such as Bolivia, Bosnia, Makena etc.

The Internet should be for everyone interconnected in the first place. I believe Tim Berners-Lee thinks so too. It is sad to see the Internet develop in the way we see it now. But there are still places like Bearblog manifest what the Internet should be.

Across the Great Wall we can reach every corner in the world.

That was the very first email sent from Beijing, China to Germany in 14th September 1987. The Great Wall still exists, but so does the Great Fire Wall. I mean not only the one in China network, but also the one across the world. The Internet is already separated into hundreds of isolated islands.

The “Global Village” remains just a dream. I’m glad there are people still believe in it.

Day 37.
